1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how SignalGap Marketing Co. ("SignalGap", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards information when you visit signalgap.ai, create an account, or use any SignalGap product (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.

2. What we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Your email address, password (hashed with bcrypt — never stored in plaintext), workspace/account name, industry vertical, and any team-member information you add.
  • Competitor lists and signals. The domains, social handles, and ad-library identifiers you add to your watchlist. The change events, snapshots, and diffs we generate from publicly available data on those domains.
  • Submitted prompts and content. Brand-kit information you provide (voice description, value propositions, personas, tone words, logos), prompts you submit to AI features, files you upload, and any other content you enter into SignalGap.
  • AI-generated content. The copy, images, summaries, recommendations, briefs, and post drafts we generate for your account.
  • Subscription and payment metadata. Plan tier, billing interval, subscription status, invoice history, last-four card digits, and tax identifiers. We do not store full card numbers — payment processing is handled by Stripe.
  • Usage information. Logs of which features you use, API call counts, AI generation counts, login timestamps, and IP addresses (truncated where feasible).
  • Communications. Emails you send to support and the contents of any chat or ticket interactions.

3. How we use it

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate the Service (authenticate sessions, run crawls, generate digests, deliver counter-creative, charge for paid plans).
  • Send transactional emails (verification, password reset, billing receipts, weekly digests you've opted into).
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Improve the Service through aggregated, de-identified analytics on feature use and reliability.
  • Respond to your support requests, legal requests, and inquiries.

We do not use your account content, submitted prompts, or generated outputs to train foundation models.

4. Service providers & AI infrastructure

SignalGap may use third-party service providers, including AI infrastructure providers, to process submitted information and generate outputs. These providers act on our behalf under written agreements and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing or model-training purposes.

Current categories of providers include:

  • AI inference (LLMs and image models) — for generating copy, images, summaries, and brand-voice outputs.
  • Cloud hosting and storage — for running the application and storing your data.
  • Payments — Stripe, for processing subscription payments and storing tokenized card data.
  • Email delivery — for sending transactional and digest emails.
  • Social publishing — for posting on your behalf to channels you have explicitly connected.
  • Error monitoring and analytics — for performance and reliability of the Service.

Do not submit confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information (for example, government IDs, payment-card numbers, protected health information, or other regulated personal data of third parties) unless you have authority to do so and understand the risks. SignalGap is not designed as a HIPAA-, PCI-, or similarly regulated processor.

5. When we share information

We share personal information only as follows:

  • With service providers as described above, under written contracts limiting their use of your information.
  • With other members of your workspace, when you invite teammates. They will see account-scoped information including competitors, brand kit, and generated content.
  • With third parties when you direct us to (for example, when you connect a social account and publish a post).
  • To comply with valid legal process, prevent harm or fraud, or enforce our Terms.
  • In connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, financing), subject to standard confidentiality protections.

6. Do Not Sell

SignalGap does not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for those parties' own advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required opt-out rights.

7. How long we keep it

We retain account and content data while your account is active and for a commercially reasonable period afterward to support backups, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Some information may be retained in aggregated or de-identified form, or where legally required.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), bcrypt password hashing, scoped database access, multi-tenant data isolation, and access logging. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

9. Your rights

You can:

  • Access and update most of your account information directly from Settings in the app.
  • Export your brand kit, competitor list, and generated content by emailing [email protected].
  • Delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We will delete or de-identify your account data within a reasonable period after confirming the request.
  • Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message. Transactional emails (security alerts, billing receipts) cannot be turned off while your account is active.

10. State privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or request information about certain personal information we collect. You may also have the right to opt out of certain uses of personal information where applicable by law. To make a privacy request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

SignalGap may use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, authentication, security, analytics, product performance, and remembering preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may prevent you from signing in or using parts of the Service.

12. Children's privacy

SignalGap is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

13. International transfers

SignalGap is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify active customers by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

15. Contact us

For privacy questions, data requests, or to report a concern, email [email protected]. We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days, or sooner where required by law.
